Materials

All number plate materials conform to the current legislation BS AU 145d.

Reflectives

Number plate reflectives are supplied in a variety of sizes to meet customers requirements. Reflectives are manufactured with microspheric glass beads enclosed within a synthetic resin which means the retro reflective properties ensure clarity in wet and dry conditions in both daylight and darkness. White and Yellow are supplied, in accordance with UK legislation.

Acrylics

The new British Standard introduces much more vigorous physical performance requirements than previously.This has resulted in various changes in components to meet the new standard. Acrylics will be at least 10% thicker than before and will withstand impact forces much better without cracking. However, they are not unbreakable.

The number plate acrylics are despatched with a thin protective film over them in order to keep them clean and to avoid scratching; the protective cover is slightly pink in colour and must to be removed before use. They are clearly marked for use under BS AU 145d regulations.

Fixers

Number Plate fixing methods now available are quite varied. They range from self-tapping screws with coloured end caps, plastic nuts and bolts, to the increasingly popular invisible adhesive fixers. Whenever possible, we always recommend that the double sided stick pads are used. By using these, there is no need to drill the number plates and therefore no tools are required. Simply apply the double sided sticky pads to the rear of the plate and everything will be fine. These things are very sticky so be careful to get the plate positioning right the first time!
